Smoking and drinking can cause greater damage after your 4th decade than during your youth. It’s best to cut down on these habits, if you don’t want to heighten your risk of developing problems such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, liver problems, PAD, or suffer from a heart attack or stroke.

Depending on your sex, you’ll have different issues to deal with. Men will find themselves experiencing the difficulty of lower testosterone and declining prostate health. For women, menopause is likely to start setting in, while reproductive health declines and the risk of developing problems like osteoporosis will also increase.
